IT’S TIME TO END PRICE GOUGING BY SOME OUT-OF-NETWORK DOCTORS AND HOSPITALS.
Pending legislation can help solve the problem.
When insured New Jersey residents receive ER care from an out-of-network facility — or even unintended care from an out-of-network physician at an in-network facility — current regulations essentially require that their insurance company pay whatever amount is charged. Unfortunately, a handful of doctors and hospitals are charging exorbitant prices. These overcharges cost New Jersey consumers hundreds of millions of dollars a year.
What you can do.
Now is the time to act. Support your local legislators today and ask them to put an end to out-of-network price gouging by voting for the Out-of-Network Consumer Protection, Transparency, Cost Containment and Accountability Act.
