“Since its founding in the mid-1990s, The Thomas W. Zito, Sr., Scholarship has enabled dozens of talented young men to benefit from Prep’s Jesuit education. Named for the father of Prep alumnus and former trustee Robert Zito, ’71, this endowed fund has grown steadily over the past decade, and as of May 2011 it stands at $657,330, generating almost $33,000 annually. Among the scholarship’s major supporters is Cento Amici, a fraternal organization headed by Bob Zito, and some of Prep’s Zito Scholarship recipients regularly attend the organization’s annual dinner each spring. This year’s attendees included four of Prep’s eight current Zito Scholars, who had the privilege of spending time with guest speaker Col. Jack Jacobs, Congressional Medal of Honor recipient.”
