WARREN, NJ (April 17, 2013) – Ray Pellecchia, most recently vice president of communications for NYSE Euronext, has joined Zito Partners in a senior consulting role.
Mr. Pellecchia spent more than 20 years in a variety of positions at the NYSE, working with major news media and building the Exchange’s social-media platform. He has been a trusted spokesman and counselor to senior management during major corporate transformations. A former journalist, he is known for creating new platforms for impactful storytelling.
“During the past 26 years, I’ve had the great fortune to team with some amazingly talented and dedicated partners at Sony, the NYSE and Bristol-Myers Squibb,” said Robert Zito, founder of Zito Partners. “The opportunity to do a “second lap” with Ray is pure gravy…and his presence will benefit our clients and partners.”
At the NYSE, Mr. Pellecchia pioneered the exchange industry’s first public blog, which was named one of Securities Technology Monitor’s “Top Financial Tech Blogs.” He co-led the creation and execution of a social-media strategy that achieved business goals and gained hundreds of thousands of followers.
Mr. Pellecchia served as spokesman and counseled management during the “flash crash;” the merger that created the first global exchange group; the NYSE’s initial public offering; its expansion into new market sectors; and governance and regulatory crises. He also led such initiatives as generating visibility for the now-familiar NYSE bell-ringing events.
“I’m delighted to be joining Bob’s team and helping an exciting and growing family of clients achieve their business goals,” said Mr. Pellecchia.
Prior to joining the NYSE, Mr. Pellecchia was an award-winning editor and writer for community newspapers. He began that work while attending Fairleigh Dickinson University, from which he graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Speech and Theater.
