Using ‘Big Data’ to Build a Better GDP

The U.S. economy contracted at 0.7% in the first three months of 2015, according to Friday’s revised reading from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The economy slipped in the first quarter of last year, too, and this has sparked a wildfire debate among the dismal-science set about whether or not the BLS is accurately capturing what’s really happening in the economy.
