The Other Side of College Athletics

Sports Illustrated has painted an especially damning portrait of college sports in its extensive feature on the Oklahoma State football program (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/college-football/news/20130910/osu-introduction/).

But there are thousands of college athletes that rise above the horror stories that seem to get broad media exposure, and instead set an example for other students, and the high school athletes that hope to follow them some day.
This piece (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEh7NsqoSJA) from the Patriot League focuses on a program initiated by the Lafayette College soccer teams, that other colleges are now joining. It is a stark contrast to the picture often portrayed of college athletes, and a great example of what is good about college sports.
