Seven years ago, Don Perry had just finished his morning run when a car sideswiped his school bus. The driver pulled away, Don followed but, before he could reach the car, it crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a tractor-trailer head on. Don rushed to the shattered vehicle, checked the woman driver for a pulse and began CPR which he kept up until paramedics arrived. He visited her in the hospital later that day and was greeted with an outpouring of gratitude from her family. Don learned that she had a rare heart condition that caused her to lose consciousness that morning.
Scary stuff…especially for the parents who trust their children to drivers who are responsible for 60 young lives, twice each day.
This is National School Bus Safety week. Think about the trust you place in the individuals who drive your children…and the companies that employ them.
Companies like Student Transportation Inc., a company we’re proud to call a client…and who’s track record of safety and service to the community is unsurpassed.
