NO LOVE FOR SPITZER

Lots of blowback to Eliot Spitzer’s attempted return to public office (more on which below). M.M. last night spoke with Bob Zito, top public affairs official at the NYSE during Spitzer’s aggressive probe into exchange chairman Dick Grasso’s pay and retirement package. Zito now has his own shop, Zito Partners, and is not eager to see Spitzer win: “Eliot Spitzer is all about Eliot Spizter and nobody else and it has always been that way. … I think anyone has a shot to win in New York City. But to me Spitzer has been nothing but disingenuous his whole political career. I’m not a shrink and I don’t know what drives people like Eliot Spitzer but he is what he is.”
