Hotlist Named Official Webby Honoree

New York, NY (April 20, 2012)- Hotlist has been selected as an Official Honoree in the 16th Annual Webby Awards in the Social (Handheld Devices) category.
The Webby Awards are the most prestigious international award honoring excellence on the Internet, and received nearly 10,000 entries this year. A small selection of those entries was given the title of Official Honoree.
Hotlist’s recognition comes shortly after it launched the second edition of its popular iPhone application for social planning. The site and mobile applications aggregate millions of people’s social plans from Facebook and other web partners, to provide its users with recommendations of nearby events and venues to attend. CEO and co-founder Chris Mirabile says, “Hotlist’s team is thrilled to have received this honor, and is excited about the potential behind product innovations that will be brought to market in the coming months.”

ABOUT HOTLIST
Based in New York City’s “Silicon Alley,” Hotlist covers the social plans of more than 100 million people worldwide, then combines this with each person’s Facebook friends, location and interests to generate personalized “Hotlists” of recommended events and places. Co-founded by Chris Mirabile and Gianni Martire, Hotlist takes virtual peeks into places, hours or days in advance, to see who plans to be there (even if they’re not yet on Hotlist). It includes event details, girl/guy ratios and Facebook profile photos of the expected crowd in more than 2.7 million venues across 40,000 cities. Users can “Follow” their favorite friends, places and interests to receive notifications of what will be happening among them, then “Plan” their own social get-togethers with friends.
