Das NYSE

Jim Stewart wrote one of the best pieces I’ve seen on the “takeover” of the NYSE by the Deutsche Borse in this weekend’s Wall Street Journal.

And while Jim’s piece makes sense, the news still hurts. We spent years building the NYSE brand into one of the most respected and recognized in the world. With Euronext, Arca and now the German exchange, the whole category is becoming commoditized. The NYSE was once the premium brand. Is it still? Nein.
